Three Easy Home DIYs for When You’re Stuck at Home

Upgrade your space -- all while social distancing and passing the time.

1. Add some greenery to your home

Adding greenery and plants is an easy way to open up a home and make you feel more connected with the outdoors! One of our favorite DIY ideas is a hanging basket. This can be put on display either inside or outside, making it perfect for any home!

This can be made with any flower pot (that doesn’t have holes in the bottom for water filterage) and a piece of sturdy rope!

2. Spruce up your pillow corner

Contain all of the miscellaneous throw pillows and blankets in your home by decorating a cute basket! We love these adorable pom pom baskets that are super easy to make! All you need is a cloth hamper, some glue and pom poms - all of which can be ordered online or in retail stores!

3. Switch-up your old shelves

Tired of staring at your old shelves all day? It’s time to restyle! Here are three tips to renovate those old shelves . . .

Try sticking to a serene color palette. By sticking with colors such as tan, white, grey, etc, it will appear as if your home decorations match better. By throwing in a pop of color like black for contrast, it can also create a great dynamic in your home.

Create symmetry. Be careful with the placement of books and start with larger books on the outer end and adjust to smaller objects on the inside to create a nice balance. Symmetry will make the space appear bigger and more open, creating a modern feel within your home.

Allow for open space. Although filling every bit of space is exciting, leaving some blank space is visually appealing to the eye and makes a home appear less cluttered. By allowing for some open space, it can make the atmosphere feel more relaxed and calming.
