Add some green to your home with these easy DIY planter ideas!
Intrigued by the idea of a garden but don’t have a yard or want to put it indoors? Now you can make your own planter box! Below are some great and easy ideas to help you get started and create some inspiration!
1. MAKE A WIRE WINDOW PLANTER
This planter can be done in less than an hour if you have all of the necessary tools and can make your outdoor space look amazing! Attach it to any window and create a pop of color!
You can attach your planter using metal hooks or simply by setting it on your windowsill if it’s big enough.
To mix it up, try using a wire basket rather than wood for a different aesthetic!
2. CREATE A WOODEN PLANTER BOX
This one requires a bit more work and can look amazing inside or outside!
If you have more bugs around your home, this can also be easily altered into a raised bed to keep your plants safe!
All you need is some pieces of wood from a hardware store, some nails and a hammer and you’re good to go. The planter itself can also be purchased at stores like Lowe’s and Target for a low cost if you don’t want to build the frame yourself.
We suggest you line the inside of the box with plastic or other waterproof material to keep in the dirt as well as the moisture in the box! This can also help keep the wood from rotting if there is no sealant. If you don’t want to line the inside of the box, you can alternatively put flowerpots on the inside to make the process easier.
3. ATTACH A PLANTER TO YOUR RAILING
This is such a simple way to spruce up a balcony and make your apartment brighter!
You can attach flowerpots with a metal ring from any hardware store to your balcony for amazing results!
This method also ensures that your plants are getting enough sun and will do well for this Summer!
