Falling in Love with Seasonal Decor

It seems like everyone is champing at the bit for the cooler days of fall, but we’re most excited for the beautiful decor options the season brings. Here are our picks for the easiest ways to bring fall into your DC home this year.

Plaids

While we often remember to wear plaid shirts on crisp days, many of us forget to also decorate with it! Look for plaids rich with reds, oranges, and yellows to keep from looking too wintry. This print makes for beautiful table runners, hand towels, napkins, and more. Feeling crafty? Repurpose an old plaid flannel into a charming fall throw pillow. We’re feeling warm and fuzzy already.

Produce

No need to limit yourself to dried leaves and pinecones this year. Hit your local grocery store for a variety of fruits and vegetables in a vivid array of seasonal colors. Depending on the sizes, these can make for beautiful layered jars, decorative filled bowls, or candle arrangements. Our favorite combination: a jar filled with fresh cranberries, kumquats, and cinnamon sticks, complete with a tea light on top.

Antlers

Shed antlers are an easy way to add rustic charm to any room this fall. If the natural look isn’t meshing with your urban chic aesthetic, try painting them (or just the tips) white, gold, or black. Pairing these with an assortment of candles is an easy and seasonally chic centerpiece for any occasion.
